STARKVILLE

Indoor playground Playtopia of Starkville, which is aimed at children up to pre-teen age, will be opening in the next few months. The impetus behind this venture came about during some “brainstorming sessions, then into planning meetings and eventually into a full-scale effort to bring something new and exciting to the area,” owner Kelsey Anderson said. “… Playtopia aims to be more than just a place to play. It’s a space built by local families for local families – one that will grow right along with the community it serves” several years ago.

The playground takes up over four thousand square feet, and includes two distinct primary play areas, a toddler-and-under area, and one aimed more at older pre-teens. They are taking over the old Tuesday Morning location at 305 Highway 12 W. They do not have a definite opening date just yet, as they are still working out the logistics and red tape needed to do things properly.

Hobie’s Tiki Dawgs & Drinks has officially completed its move to 203 Maxwell St. and is ready to rock! Hobie’s is open 4-8 p.m. Mondays, 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.

New Hope bakery Taylor Made’s second business venture, Frosted Fork, Starkville, had its soft opening last week: 104 S. Washington St., Suite 3, Starkville. TFF offers pastries, charcuterie boards, chicken, and much more! 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturdays.

COLUMBUS

The long-anticipated Columbus Food Court and Market will soon arrive! Jill Lehrkamp has set up a 2-acre site at 92 Alabama St: “I want to build something we can all be proud of,” she posted online. “I need your help to do that. I need you to support the food trucks that come to the area.” She also noted that she and her crew will be working hard on-site to make sure everything is ready in time, so feel free to stop by if you have questions, just want to show your support for them, or want to see about getting your own food truck in there! You can also contact them on Facebook.
