Mark Castleberry, originally from California, has been bringing businesses and investment into the Golden Triangle area since the early 1990s. Today, he’s one of the state’s most successful developers, with many projects under his belt, from The Mill at MSU and the Triangle Crossing shopping area (ALDI, Marshall’s, Starbucks, etc) in Starkville to major manufacturing campuses to hotels to his newest project: The Village, a combined residential, office, and commercial campus in Madison. This $90 million project has been designed to emulate the look and feel of New Orleans’ Garden District; sales of Phase I of the residential lots are nearly complete, and Phase II will go on the market next year.
Castlberry is always on the lookout for new projects to invest in, bringing housing, industry, retail business, and the jobs that come with them to our state: “We have a lot of opportunities to present themselves to us,” he said. “We often review multiple projects, and the best ones become obvious. It’s unusual that we develop such a broad range of projects, but it keeps life interesting, and I always learn something new.”
