Site Selection, a big-industry magazine that focuses on helping companies to assess locations for new major project investments, recently included Lowndes County in their list of the top twenty counties in industrial investment per capita and jobs creation. Lowndes tied for 17th place in the country; the newly-introduced list covers projects from January 2024 through March 2025.
According to their site, these rankings also take into account factors such as “the often behind-the-scenes contributions county officials make in facilitating both project attraction and project retention. No project will move forward very quickly without permitting, zoning, traffic planning and other county-specific inputs typical of new or expanding project activity.”
Lowndes is becoming a better and better place for investment in these big projects – that means more money coming into the regional economy, more ways for local businesses to get the items they need, and more local jobs! And THAT’s Good for Business!
